Ann Tipper is an Associate CSC member and multiple CSA-winning cinematographer who has worked in independent film for over a decade across Canada and around the world. She values close collaboration with her creative peers and strives to create texture, atmosphere and support story in all of her compositions. Her latest projects include the groundbreaking CBC series Small Achievable Goals, season two and three of the CBC series Run The Burbs (both of which were nominated for CSAs for Best Photography), season 3 of the HBO Max/CBC series Sort Of (for which she won a CSA for Best Photography in 2024), four episodes of the CBC documentary series In The Making (for which she earned her first CSA win in partnership with Maya Bankovic), the SYFY tv series Astrid and Lilly Save The World, the CSA-winning documentary Sex With Sue, the CSA-winning short film Pick, the CBC mini-series Lido TV and the narrative feature M|M (Slamdance 2018, Inside Out festival 2018, Toronto theatrical run). Other notable cinematography credits include the 8-part TVO documentary series Striking Balance, the TIFF Top 10 2014 short Kajutaijuq, as well as the abstract narrative dance shorts Wall Stare and That Moment When.

Ann believes filmmaking is a way to reach others and connect, share, spark emotion, inspire and provoke thought. She loves this medium and feels lucky to get to collaborate and create stories that mean something to others.
